Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Sunday in
Lagos attacked the 04 Hotel in Ajah, killing the owner of the hotel and his wife
in a very gruesome manner. Nigerian police have condemned the unfortunate
incident and assured that they are on top of the situation.
A source told Skilo9ja that the gunmen also set the
hotel on fire, leading to the death of two others.
Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe, who confirmed the incident to NAN in Lagos said the incident occurred at about 2a.m. He said the raging fire from the persons set ablaze also escalated and burnt a large section of the hotel.
Rasaq Fadipe said, “At about 2 a.m on Sunday we got a call from the police, inviting us to respond to a fire incident at 04 Hotel in Ajah.
“Some unknown gunmen had stormed the hotel and had shot dead the owner, his wife and set the two other male occupants ablaze. The fire from the burning persons was so much that it spread to some rooms in the hotel and destroyed so many things.
“But my men arrived at the scene quickly enough to stop the fire from spreading to the other parts of the hotel, thereby preventing further damage.
“It was indeed an unfortunate incident,” he added.
