Episode 71
“Who’s there?” Jummy asked
immediately Segun knocked on
the door.
“It’s me.” Segun replied.
“Come in.” she said.
Segun entered and saw Jummy
siting down on Wale’s laps(you
remember him?).
He was shocked and at the same
time jealous but he had to hide it.
“Bro wale wassup now?” Segun
greeted shaking hands with him.
“Aburo i dey o.” Wale replied.
Segun tried his best to play along
in their conversation even
though he was boiling with
anger.
But why was he angry? I thought
he was never interested in
Jummy. His conclusion after
loosing Nike was to switch to the
plan B which was Jummy.
But here he was, Jummy with
another guy. Not just any guy but
his brother’s friend.
“Is Mary in?” Segun asked
pointing to the direction of
Mary’s room.
“No, mummy asked her to come
to shop.” Jummy informed.
“Okay.” Segun said.
They continued their
conversation before Segun left
for his room.
“Bro Wale. I’m off to my room o.”
Segun informed.
“Okay aburo. I’ll soon be going
too.” Wale replied.
Segun walked dejectedly to his
room with jealousy written all
over his face.
He got into his room, tried to
catch some sleep but sleep
eluded him. He was just tossing
around the bed. He brought out
his phone to chat online or surf
the internet but it seems like the
network is against him because
the thing refused to go through.
Mary entered his room thirty
minutes later. This time he was in
the wonderland.
“Bro, am back.” she said waking
him up.
“Uhh! You’re back?” he asked
rhetorically.
She gave him a searching look.
“did you meet brother Wale
when you came back? Because i
left him when i was going out.”
she asked.
“Yes i met him.” he replied.
“Okay.” she said.
“Mary don’t tell me they are
dating.” he said referring to
Jummy and Wale.
Episode 72
“Bro they are dating big time.”
Mary said emphasizing on each
word.
Segun thought within himself for
some seconds.
“since when have they been
dating?” he asked.
“About a week ago. Exactly a
week after Nike came here.” Mary
explained.
“Oh! Thanks.” He said.
“Bro do you know what made
you loose out on Jummy?” Mary
asked.
“No.” he replied.
“You anger and believe. You so
much believe in yourself that you
think you know what is good for
you.” Mary said.
“Am i the one you are talking to
in that manner?” he asked
angrily.
“Am sorry o.” she replied.
“Mary, are you mad?” he asked
advancing towards her.
Mary stood still and didn’t utter a
word because she knew what
will happen if she tried running
away or talk.
“Mary, i don’t want you to
interfere in anything about me.
Okay?” he said.
“yes.” she replied.
“Now get out.” he commanded.
Mary looked at him for the last
time and left his room.
“Am i the one that made those
girls to break up with you? You
are now transferring your
agression on me. Mtchew.” she
said and hissed loudly.
Segun layed down back on his
bed and reminiscied over the
events of the day.
“Nike is now back with
Emmanuel, Jummy is now dating
Wale. At last am the looser.” he
thought.
He went back into wonderland a
few minutes later and had a
dream.
In his dream he saw a beautiful
girl whom he fell in love with a
first sight. He tried asking her
out.
“Segun, before i can go into a
relationship with you. You need
to work on one thing.” the
beautiful girl said.
“What are they?” he asked.
“Your anger, and your pride.” she
replied.
“I promise to work on them
immediately.” he said and woke
up from his slumber.
“Segun, take this and get me fuel
for the generator.” his father said
handing a one thousand naira
note to him.
He stood up washed his face and
went to the filling station accross
the street. The time was 7pm.
He kept on thinking about his
dream.
Episode 73
Segun opened the door to the
living room and entered.
“Go and fill the generator with
the fuel.” Mr Akinola commanded.
“Wassup man.” Mike greeted.
He ignored his greeting and
headed for the backyard where
the generator house was located.
“Segun, can’t you see your friend
is greeting you?” Mr Akinola
asked.
Segun kept quiet and looked at
Mike in anger. The guy just kept
smiling.
“Hey.” Segun said no chalantly
and shook hands with him.
Immediately he left the room and
walked to the backyard. Mike
followed in the direction he went
to.
Segun got into the generator
house and opened the tank, he
began filling it.
“Lets clear the air and forget
about the past.” Mike said.
Segun felt like slapping him but
some forces held him and he
stayed put.
“I know i offended you but we
are friends and it is bound to
happen.” Mike explained.
Segun was suprised he couldn’t
attack him despite his anger.
“No problems. What are friends
for.” Segun replied then shook
hands with him.
Segun put on the generator a
few minutes later. They both
walked back to the front of the
house chatting happily.
Jummy walked in with Mrs
Akinola.
“Good evening ma.” Mike greeted
prostrating.
“Good evening my son. How is
daddy and mummy?” Mrs Akinola
replied.
“They are all fine ma.” Mike
replied.
Mrs Akinola walked in leaving
Jummy behind.
“Hi.” Mike said extending his
hands to Jummy.
“Hello.” Jummy replied shaking
hands with him.
“You are looking good. I guess
my guy here is taking care of
you.” Mike said laughing.
Segun frowned in anger but
replaced it with an evil grin
before Mike could notice his
changed countenance.
Jummy smiled uncomfortably
walked in leaving the two friends
to their discussion.
“Guy whats up now. Don’t tell me
you are not dating this babe.”
Mike said smiling sheepishly.
“Oh boy i don jonz o.” Segun
replied.
“Wetin happen?” Mike asked with
concern written all over his face.
Segun explained how things
went from the time he met Nike,
how he started dating Jummy for
what she can offer, how his
mother interfered because of
some promises, how he started
dating Nike, how blissful their
relationship was. The
interference of his mother in the
matter. His breakup with Nike
and coming back home to
continue with Jummy only to
meet her with another guy.
“Na so you take loose on both
ends.” Mike lamented.
“Oh boy i loose big time.” Segun
said sadly.
“Remember i told you to go for
one of them or you’ll loose at the
end of the day.” Mike reminded
him.
“I know but right from time, i
went for Nike.” Segun defended.
“Then you shouldn’t have striked
any friendship deal with Jummy
talkless of bringing her home.”
Mike explained.
Segun kept quiet and digested all
what his friend said.
“I personally wanted Jummy for
you. That was why i reported you
movement with Nike to your
dad.” Mike confessed.
“So you are the spy?” Segun
asked inwardly.
“Factors that led to your loss is
not far fetched. Its just that you
are naive and inexperience
coupled with you anger.” Mike
explained.
“Truely i became the looser just
because of my naivety.” Segun
said aloud.
“Yes my brother, now you have
learnt your lesson.” Mary said
from behind.
